In the Hindu tradition, there are four stages of life identified: student (youth), householder (working years), forest dweller (retirement) and sage (wisdom years). We find ourselves on different points of this spectrum at various times in our lives – sometimes occupying more than one stage at the same time. Transitions between these stages can be difficult and entail learning new ways of living as we transcend and include each stage in our development. In the transition process, it is important to become conscious of shadow beliefs around aging, to work with conditioned dysfunctional patterns from the past and to move into a whole new way of being. Join Dr. Jane Simmons as we explore the gifts of conscious aging as we move through the various transitions of our lives.
